Elbow Epicondylitis (tennis/golfers elbow)

Epicondylitis is an inflammatory condition of the tendons that connect to the elbow.  Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) affects the tendons that connect to the outside of the elbow, and medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow) affects the tendons of the inside of the elbow.  These conditions are most often caused by overuse and biomechanical issues, and can be persistent if not dealt with.  The inflammation can lay down scar tissue, which can lead to forming adhesions.  This reduces the ability for the tendons to move normally. There can also be joint mobility issues, causing mechanical changes and increased stress to the tendons.  It is important to address these issues early, to prevent a chronic condition.
