Wrist Sprain

A sprain is a stretch or a tear of a ligament(s) (fibrous connective tissue that connects bones together).  A wrist sprain can occur from repetitive use, or trauma, and often results in swelling and pain. As is the case with most soft tissue injuries, the body will attempt to heal the damaged tissue by laying down collagen fibers.  If this process goes unchecked, adhesions could occur causing reduce range of motion, strength loss and loss of function.  Proper rehabilitation following these types of injuries helps to insure return to function, and possible prevention of future ailments.
